After opening their first resort in Kerala, India, The Leela Palaces, Hotels and Resorts has now opened a second one in the same region. The Leela Ashtamudi, which is also called “A Raviz Hotel,” opened its doors this summer. It has 93 really nice rooms, a restaurant that floats on the water, and a spa that specializes in Ayurvedic treatments. The resort also has four restaurants, including one that’s on the water, where you can enjoy fresh seafood while watching beautiful sunsets.

According to him, the two resorts offer very distinctive and unique backwater and beach experiences.

Located by the peaceful Ashtamudi Lake, this 60-acre resort has really nice guest rooms with special toiletries made from essential oils. The rooms also have big balconies with great views of the lake. On the property, there are two cottages that are over two hundred years old, tucked away in green gardens with tall palm trees. They feature wrap-around porches private swimming pools. There’s also a one-bedroom houseboat with an open lounge area, a deck for watching the view, a private chef, and a captain.

Much like its sister property located approximately 50 miles to the south, The Leela Ashtamudi Raviz Hotel pampers guests with Ayurvedic treatments. And, of course, you can sunbathe by the outdoor pool, which is surrounded by lush greenery.
