This Common Suitcase Sticker Mistake Could Cost You Thousands
An airport worker has shared a common mistake travelers make. It turns out they can lose their luggage and quite a lot of money. If you’ve ever had your suitcase lost, you know how painful it is. Here’s how to avoid this issue.
The Common Suitcase Error
The official Ontario International Airport TikTok account posted a video of a professional luggage handler explaining that a little sticker of American Airlines is put on your suitcase. If you later travel to a different place, but your old American sticker is still on, it may get scanned instead of the new one. They explained, “It just depends on how it’s clocked and where the stuff is. It might end up somewhere else and not get on the plane.”
This information came as a surprise to many people who shared that they had left stickers on their luggage before. One person commented, “Pro tip right there! Good to know.” Others, however, said they already knew about this and were happy that the tip was finally shared. Some were even shocked that not everyone knew about this.
Our Suitcases’ Journey
Last month, a TikTok user showed the journey of our luggage at the airport. Thomas Miller placed a camera on the handle of his suitcase before going to the airport. In the video, he places it onto the scales at check-in and lets it move along on a conveyor belt behind the airport staff. In the meantime, they are taking boarding passes from his fellow passengers.
The journey of the suitcase is seen being detoured by its descent of slopes and collisions with side walls. After several ups and downs, we eventually spotted the case prepared for pickup by a luggage handler. It is then crammed into the back of a cart along with a bunch of other cases and driven to the plane and Miller’s final destination.
In other words, it’s really had quite the journey – before even reaching the sky!
