This is the first collaboration for the Pearl Jam frontman Eddie Vedder and producer Andrew Wyatt, and it is a song about star-crossed lovers. The lyrics talk about a woman that was one man’s all and everything but with a strength that needed space. Vedder sings over the video’s black-and-white imagery of a scenic road trip. The lyrics describe the woman’s love like a haunting that left but never went away and point out how she took the long way on the freeway.
Eddie Vedder Collaborated With Glen Hansard for the Soundtrack of Sean Penn’s Flag Day
Eddie Vedder recently collaborated with Glen Hansard to record the soundtrack of Sean Penn’s movie Flag Day. It also features Vedder’s daughter Olivia on the songs There’s a Girl and My Father’s Daughter. They also recorded together with Cat Power for three of the songs featured in the soundtrack.
Eddie Vedder and Pearl Jam will be among the bands performing at the Sea.Hear.Now. The Festival will start on September 18th. Fans can also see them at the Ohana Festival on September 26th and during the same festival’s Encore Weekend on October 1st and 2nd. Vedder will also be delivering a special solo set at the Ohana Festival on September 25th.
Another activity that Vedder recently joined was Audible’s music and storytelling series, Words + Music. He is tipped to participate in the fall slate of the series. On October 21st, he will share his view of the song I Am Mine. The song is described as a musical reflection on life where art, masculinity, sensitivity, and ascendant pop/rock-super stardom intersect to define an age.
